How to use the frame creation mold

This is a special page explaining how to use the frame creation mold.

❓What is a frame creation mold?
The frame creation mold is not made by solidifying the entire resin as usual, but rather to accommodate requests to create a hollow space within the resin. This is a convex mold with a guide that is compatible with each mold, allowing the resin to be hollowed out when it hardens.

📏How to use <br>On this page we will use the frame creation mold for the lantern mold, but the frame creation molds for all series are used in the same way.

First, pour the resin as usual.
When using a frame making mold, fill the mold about halfway with resin liquid.

Fill the resin about halfway with liquid, then place the frame-making mold introduced at the beginning on top and let it harden.
Each mold comes with a guide that corresponds to it, so all you have to do is place it on top.

Once the hardened piece is removed, you will have a finished resin piece with a frame of uniform thickness on the outside, as shown in the image.

❓What do you use this for?

That's all for how to use the frame creation mold, but now we'll show you the process of actually turning it into a work of art.
Place the hollow resin you just made on the back side of the lantern mold (the side with the protrusions).

Use the frame making mold again and create another one using the same steps.

Now the front and back of the mold have the same shape.

You can do this on either the front or back side, but to glue it together, apply resin all around the edge of the frame.
I personally find this step easier to apply using a toothpick.

Once you have applied the resin all around, glue the mold together.
There are guides on both the front and back of the mold, allowing for accurate alignment.
Once bonded, place in a UV lamp to harden.

Once the hardening is complete, remove the piece and you will have a hollow lantern.

Remove any burrs around the edges and it's complete.

If you put the items you want to enclose inside before gluing them together, you can create a piece like the one in the image.
If you want to pour liquid into the board, the most common method seems to be to stick the board together, then drill a hole in an inconspicuous place and pour the liquid into it.

What did you think?
It's easy to make hollow resin, so please give it a try.
